Another Awesome Indie...Creations by Lynda - Berry Glittered, Aurora Australis, and the soon-to-be-released cuiticle oil!

Heya Peeps. I'm stoked to be comin' at ya with another new-to-me indie post. I won a giveaway hosted and sponsored by The Nail Files by Lynda (blog FB page) aka Creations by Lynda (shop FB page). I'm really hoping I don't have to tell you her name is Lynda. She makes and sells some awesome polish, soaps, candles, cuticle oil, and more. She's a busy but talented chicky. I've linked to both of the FB pages so if you don't already like them, you should. Catch some sneak peeks of new releases & other cool stuff. Ok meow, let's get on with the review shall we? First up is Berry Glittered. It's a gorgeous polish but it hates my camera (or perhaps my camera just hates me), and it would be nice to have a little sunshine someday. I probably could've gotten some killer photos of Berry Glittered in the sunlight but I haven't seen it in 2 days. Lame. Anywho, here's an attempt at a macro to show detail...
There's tons of little shiny things packed off in that one little bottle. Check it out swatched...
The base is a super shimmery pink-purple, yeah berry is a good name for it. I love that color! There is tons of iridescent and silver glitter shreds, iridescent square glitters, pink stars, silver hearts, and there's probably more that I haven't mentioned but you get the idea. It really is kickass, but my camera doesn't pick up the iridescent shreds so the finish looks kinda lumpy in the photos. The swatch above and below are 2 coats Berry Glittered over OPI Ridge Filler, one coat of top coat. I left the glitters out and tried not to add tons of shreds but I didn't do so good on my ring & middle finger. Just take my word for it, this polish is prettier in person. Here's a closeup that shows the shreds a bit more...
Regardless of my crummy swatch pics, let me show you Berry Glittered, glitter included...
That there shows ya what 4 coats of Berry Glittered looks like. I dabbed on the glitters for the most part. Btw, there was no glitter fishing at all involved with the application. It was actually more work trying to swatch it without the glitter :) The formula is an awesome consistency, dry time seems good. Just keep in mind, I couldn't capture the iridescent shreds & squares so the photos are kinda weird. If you're diggin' that awesome base color, Lynda told me that Fusion from her Tempus Fugit Trio is the same base as Berry Glittered. But, instead of shreds & glitters she added holo to it. I found an awesome review of the entire collection over at ColorSplash Nails, click here to check out Fusion & the other pretties. Next up is that sweet holo top coat, Aurora Australis. Love it...
I used the flash with that photo, obviously. It seems to be the easiest way for me to pick up holo without sunlight. Anywho, I haven't seen tons of red holos, and I realized China Glaze Merry Berry had yet to be swatched so...waalaa! Awesome sauce, although I think Merry Berry is too dark for this time of year, for me anyway. I did not use a top coat while swatching Aurora Australis, and used Seche Clear for my base coat. Just thought I'd throw that out there. Let's check out this holo masterpiece over some other colors, shall we?
I got a little ingenious with my swatches as you see. I used Sinful Colors Cinderella as my base color. Perty, aint it? I could look at that all day. Seriously, that happens to me whenever I wear an awesome polish. I can't concentrate worth s#&t because pretty, shiny things distract me. Anywho, I decided to swatch Aurora Australis over one more color. Here it is over Sally Hansen Sonic Bloom from the Insta-Dri line...
I'm diggin' that one too. I really wish I could get some sunlight photos, but that still rocks. Now on to the cuticle oil. I really love it. I suppose I'll add a bottle shot so you can see it...
As you can see it's nice & clear, good consistency too. It's not uber thick and it's not too thin, making it very easy to paint on, not messy & I don't have butter fingers after application. I've been using this on my swatch hand daily for about a week & a half now. I can already see a difference in my nails and cuticles. And the scent, Plumeria is one of my favorites. I guess the only disadvantage to using this stuff is it's hard to resist the urge to smell your fingers, which can earn you some strange looks if you get caught in the act. The oils is light, not greasy or sticky, and it absorbs quickly and easily. Lynda provided me with the list of ingredients, check 'em out:

Safflower Seed Oil, Fractionated Coconut Oil, Avocado Oil, Grapeseed Oil , Sesame Seed Oil , Olive Oil, Soybean Oil , Aloe Vera Leaf Extract , Jojoba Seed Oil , Vitamin E
(with the option of additional essential oils for scented versions like my awesome Plumeria)

Heavenly stuff. It beats the crap out of my Burt's Bees and Sally Hanson. I totally recommend picking up a bottle of this when it goes on sale. The official release date is set for May 10, and the price will be $4.75 for a full 15ml bottle. I'm sure I'll be purchasing some just as soon as this mini runs out. So, my opinion of the Creations by Lynda products I've tried...Her polish is awesome, Aurora Australis of course being my favorite. Obviously I'm diggin' the cuticle oil. Lynda has some gorgeous new releases, and is continually adding more unique pretties to the shop. Don't forget to like both of her Facebook pages for updates, sneak peeks, all that good stuff, links are in the opening paragraph. You can check out her shop, Creations by Lynda, here if you're wanting to buy some killer pretties. So...Whatcha think? Have you tried any Creations by Lynda yet? Want to? Going to? Leave me some comment love yo. Till next time peeps!

A Girl Obsessed Swatch & Review Post - AGO, Mt Dew, and OompaLoompa Love

Hey hey peeps! I have another sweet AGO review for your face. I've had these polishes for a minute, but after ripping off my nail and butchering the rest of 'em I opted to wait till they grew out a bit more before I swatched these pretties. Then I got crazy busy do to unexpected bullshit circumstances. Grrrr! Anywho, the dealio is this...after reviewing Sock Monkey I had to buy the full-size. Since I was able to use a 20% off discount code I went ahead and ordered another one of my AGO lemmings - appropriately named AGO. I was also eye-ballin' Mt Dew and Oompa Loompa Love hard core. Lucky for me, Sam was awesome enough to send me the minis. SCORE! Now I honestly can't say for sure which is my favorite, I love them all. I'll start off this review with those two sweet, sweet minis. Ready for it?

BAM!
That's 2 coats Oompa Loompa Love over OPI Ridge Filler, with a coat of OTD. I love this stuff yo, I'm not even kidding. And, this may be the best formula EVER. It's just perfect, for lack of a more detailed description. You may or may not have noticed crellies are my absolute fave, and this one may have surpassed Sock Monkey on my favorite crelly list. I love the light nude-colored base, the mix of glitters is adorable too. I have an irresistible urge to show you a closeup...
See - adorable, right? Bright green, copper, and silver hex glitters are mixed in with bright orange bars and red hearts. I totally feel the oompa loompa love, I think. That or I've developed hypertension. Hmm, regardless I fuggin' love this polish. And check this out...select shades are on sale 25% off at AGO's Etsy shop, Oompa Loompa Love being one of 'em! Click here to open up the shop listing, better hurry though - there's only 4 full size bottles left at $6 a pop! All these back and forth trips to Texas are starting to get expensive, or I would've already snatched up one of these babies.

Next up is Mt Dew. This one is special. Sam made this in honor of a friend. I decided I wanted this polish after seeing Lacey's gorgeous swatches at My Boyfriend Hates Makeup. Check out her post here. I love the yellow jelly base. The red, bright green, and neon yellow hex glitters are friggin' perfect. Those white bar glitters make it even more perfect. Ha, they remind me of straws. I love it! The formula is perfect too, no surprise there.  Anywho,  my eyes are thirsty - must have Mt Dew! (Ugh, sometimes I am so lame).
I decided to try it over Sinful Colors Irish Green. I personally think I rocked it :) That's 2 coats btw. Delicious would be a good word for it. Now I need to tell you guys something. I actually had a very hard time swatching this polish. OMG, I love it! I couldn't make myself take it off, but I knew I needed to try Mt Dew with different undies. So after 2 days I finally forced myself to remove it. I decided to try it over Sinful Colors Unicorn. The hubs snatched it up for me a couple weeks ago and I hadn't tried it yet, so I figured why not? I got my answer to that real quick. Mt Dew has an awesome formula, but I believe my blogger buddy Cynthia from Of Life And Lacquer hit the nail on the head when she described SC Unicorn as having a "shit-tastic" formula. They should've named it Streaker or something. And wtf, am I the only one that couldn't get the crap to dry? Retarded. Oh well, it still looks awesome when I throw some Mt Dew on top. Check it out yo...
I love this swatch too. At first I was afraid to try yellow undies with Mt Dew. I thought it would drown out the bright yellow hex glitters, but I think it turned out pretty dang cute. Even though yellow isn't really my color, I'm totally diggin' this. Here's another closeup for your face...

Last, but not least is AGO. It's a flippin' adorable mix of white, black, and neon pink glitters, with iridescent flakies that shift from blue to green to yellow in a clear base. As with all the other swatches, I used 2 coats of AGO and a topcoat. Since it's so bright, I felt adventurous and decided to try it out over the brightest friggin' yellow I had - that being Lightening from Sally Hansen's Insta-Dri line. Not sure what my deal is with yellow lately, the color looks horrid on me. For some reason I keep finding ways to implement them in my reviews though.
Something that does agitate me about this...for some weird reason I can't get the neon pink hex glitters to actually show up neon in my photos. What's up with that? Oh well, you're gonna have to trust me on this one. They are crazy bright. My photos don't do it justice, I've tried. AGO's formula is awesome too, as I figured it would be. Since I kinda had a theme going on with the Sinful Colors, I decided to see what AGO looked like over Cinderella...
This one's my fave combo. The pink shimmer in Cinderella goes perfect with AGO. But I do gotta tell ya, I did try AGO over a bright pink. It looked awesome. Unfortunately, I was unprepared and didn't get any photos. Oopsies, sorry 'bout that peeps. But here's a closeup of AGO over Cinderella...

So, my verdict on A Girl Obsessed Oompa Loompa Love, Mt Dew, and AGO....I love 'em! No joke, every AGO polish I've tried has blown me away. I recommend any polish addict try out at least one of Sam's creations. I'd be willing to bet you'll go back for more. Remember that 25% off sale I mentioned earlier? Well, that's to make room for some brand new AGO pretties and I can't friggin' wait to get my hands on some of those! Click here to see what's currently available at AGO's Etsy shop. Better hurry up and score some cheap indies while you still can! Now comes the annoying part...time for the interrogation. Which swatch is your favorite? Got any AGO polish yet? Got any lemmings? Gonna take advantage of the 25% off sale? And dudes...did you catch the sneak peek of the new AGO pretties? You should definitely like A Girl Obsessed on Facebook to stay up-to-date on shop news yo. If hand-made jewelry is your thing, be sure to check out Cooley Jooelry on Facebook too. Let me know whatcha think in the comments. I like comments, they make me feel like I'm not just talking to myself  :) Until next time peeps...

*Special Edition Post* A Girl Obsessed+The Walking Dead=Seriously Sweet Swatches!

And so the time has come...Finally AMC's The Walking Dead is back!  I'm super stoked :) I actually planned on having this post done after the show last night but I got sidetracked. Here's the dealio though... when I realized that Sam aka A Girl Obsessed had created a polish inspired by and appropriately named after my fave tv show and comic, I had to order a bottle! I totally rocked it for the mid-season premiere too ;) This is my second polish from AGO. If you're interested, you can check out my review and swatches on AGO's Faerie Farts here. So I was thinking it's the perfect time for a "special edition" post. My favorite show is back and I've got an awesome polish to commemorate...Why not dig Fartsey Faye up from her grave for the occasion? If this is your first time reading my blog, I'm sure your starting to hear those alarm bells go off in your head that warn you away from crazies. Well, ignore them. I've got some sick swatches to show ya mmmkay?

A Girl Obsessed 'The Walking Dead' is so awesome in a creepy kinda way. I love it! The jelly base is that sick green zombie skin color. There's also a fun mix of glitter suspended in the "zombie green" jelly that totally makes me think zombie apocalypse. Check out this bottle shot of TWD...
You've got large matte red hex glitters to represent blood I'm assuming. Then there's large matte white hex glitters. These make me think of bones and teeth. I visualize a zombie munching on someone, ripping off chunks of flesh and exposing bone. Yeah, maybe I put too much thought into that. Oh well...You also have medium matte black hex glitters. They remind me of the overall grotesqueness of the undead, rotting corpses and all that good stuff. And then there's  medium brown/copper hex glitters. They make me think of the dirty grubbiness associated with a zombie apocalypse. No electric, soap makers, or running water means your gonna get dirty right? Now on with the review...

Once again I am very impressed by AGO's formula. It's a great consistency to work with, making it really easy to spread the glitters out, putting the large pieces where I wanted them. I didn't have to do any fishing either! I'm really happy with that. Seriously, the large glitters don't sink and there's the perfect amount of them. Half way through I did decide to close the lid and shake the bottle up a bit, but I was able to get large pieces without a problem. I used 3 coats of TWD with one coat of OTD topcoat for this swatch. Whatcha think?

And a closeup...

Of course I had to try The Walking Dead over another polish. So I figured a white base would really make it pop. It totally did too :) I'm a glitter glutton, it would have been completely fine with just 2 coats, but I wanted more glitter and more zombie green. Here's 3 coats of TWD over 2 coats of Pure Ice Superstar (white) with 1 coat of OTD topcoat...

Another shot, thumb included :)  Sorry, got my thumb a bit close but it's ridiculously hard for me to bend it enough to get it in the swatch photos.

The verdict on A Girl Obsessed 'The Walking Dead'...
An easy-to-spread formula and no fishing for large glitters makes it a fun and creative polish to add to any polish and/or zombie obsessed girl's collection! The awesome part is it's versatile. It's just random and unique enough I don't have to wait till Sundays to rock it :) If you're interested in purchasing TWD or any of the other AGO creations you're in luck! A Girl Obsessed is now live on Etsy! Just click here. Prices are very reasonable for the uniqueness and quality. I'll definitely be making more purchases in the future. Soooo, what do you think? Are you going to purchase TWD or some of the other AGO polishes? Do you have some already? Let me know, I'd love to hear (or read) your opinions!

And now it's time I close this post with a couple Fartsey Faye mutilations for your viewing pleasure!

My zombie hubby...

Here's my zombie kiddo...
